Puppy teeth one left?
HI

I had to take mine to vet to have it pulled because 4 would come out at 10 months and another pup had a baby tooth hanging in the back of his throat so I pulled it.

Reply:my dog is a boxer and shes 18 month and she still has some puppy teeth.dont worry bout it!
Reply:I would not worry about it yet. Unless it starts to cause pain or the other tooth begins to grow in behind it. For now there is no reason to put your dog through any trauma. As in any case, if you begin to worry, talk to your vet. They will be able to tell you what effects this could have on your dog. They will also be able to see if he has an adult tooth under there or not. Sometimes they just never get them and eventually the baby tooth just falls out.
Reply:Hi Maggy,

This is a common occurrence in smaller dogs. It is called a deciduous tooth and it does require anesthesia for removal. Often times this can be done at the time of his neutering. Unfortunately, the tooth can cause problems down the road it may cause tooth decay as food can get caught in it. A really great routine to get into is brushing his teeth daily with doggie toothpaste and a little toothbrush. It is known that dogs with healthy teeth live longer.

Reply:I have a 7 month old Chihuahua, who had one baby canine on the bottom, and his permanent tooth came in right behind it. The permanent tooth just pushed the baby tooth out of the way on it's own. I would'nt worry about it. The baby tooth will come out on it's own, when it's ready to.
Reply:well i feel i can help you alot! my puppy is almost 8 and a half months old and also a chihuahua(jack russel mix) no joke! he has lost all his puppy teeth but two are left on the bottom front. we went to the vet for this and the vet just said that he will lose them soon enough and to not be worried. puppies teeth fall out and come back in at different rates. i took my puppy on vacation with me about 4 months ago and he lost almost all his teeth on that vacation! so theres nothing to worry about...puppies are individuals and the little tyke will be fine! ~ hope i helped
Reply:My mother in laws schn was over 2yrs when she finally lost her last puppy canine. I would not worry about it. If he starts to have swelling or tenderness around (between) the teeth, then you should consider taking him to the vet to have that tooth removed. He will only be given a local...usually they do not have to have surgery for this.
Reply:I have a toy poodle mix and I'm having the same problem. All four adult canine teeth are in but the two top baby teeth are there also. It doesn't seem to be a problem so far but I'm watching and I'm sure eventually they will fall out.
Reply:Here's a site on it: http://home.wanadoo.nl/sheltiehealth/tee... Sorry, it's about a Sheltie tooth, but it's still a dog tooth and they both have canine teeth. I hope this helps a little! Good luck!
Reply:It's common in toy breeds for a dog to retain puppy teeth. If it's still there when the adult tooth starts to emerge, it should be removed or his bite will be all out of whack.
Reply:dont worrie
Reply:My neighbours pup had the same problem and i took it to my vet , the tooth was taken out with out any problems
Reply:stop worring, you little dog will bring his tooth through when he is ready, as with babies, they come through at different times, my baby didnt have a tooth in her head at 12mths old(HUMAN) but when she got to 14mths, they all started to come through at once. so don,t worry.
