As an adult, I am "cursed" with having one baby tooth that never came out. (canine). My permanent tooth is impacted in my gums sideways. My dentist say it would take invasive surgery to gradually bring the impacted tooth down into place but also gave me the option of removing the baby tooth and having a bridge placed without having to remove the impacted tooth. She says the impacted tooth is "fixed" and will not move without surgery. I feel that after the adult size tooth is placed, my teeth will appear crooked. Is it possible to have braces put on to straighten them out after the bridge is placed?
Braces and a bridge?
No, once you have a bridge, those teeth (of the bridge) are fixed in place. Definitely have braces before a bridge, or just tell your dentist your concerns; she may have factored the size of your teeth in her decision to recommend a bridge-- in other words she may use the bridge to fix the crookedness you are mentioning.
