We have lost Our claws and our Canine Teeth (for pucturing the Neck of prey) have Both Shrunk. We have flat back Molar Teeth for grinding Vegetation as all Vegetarian Animals do, and Humans have poor digestion regarding Meat. Also Humans cannot 'stomach' slaughter Emotionally or Mentally anymore and most Humans cannot kill Animals themselves. So why do some people still insist on eating flesh?
Why do Humans in the 21st century still Eat Meat?
The baby of vegan parents starved to death recently. Vegans routinely suffer debilitating deficiencies brought about by poor diet.
There is nothing wrong with being a vegetarian, if you are a herbivore. Human beings are, like bears, omnivores. Meat is an essential part of our diet.
When you start feeling a little spacey, you should broil yourself a small steak. It will keep you from getting too far out of balance.
As for hunting, most of the people I know who hunt enjoy getting out and stalking game. How much intelligence is required to sneak up on a leaf? Without a penchant for flesh, our species would still be gnawing on banannas in the tree tops, flinging feces at one another with our feet.
Reply:We still eat meat because it still tastes damn good.
Reply:We have lost our natural way of killing and hunting because we have replaced it with artificial ones.
Back in the day, if the climate cooled, we would grow thinker hair. Now, we would buy a jacket. No need to adapt naturally, since we do it artificially.
Reply:It does taste good. Also, I don't need claws nor super sharp teeth to go to the grocery store and get a steak and cook out on the grill. We are still predators by design, hence the eyes in front of our face. Man didn't hunt with claws or force in his early days either, he did it in groups with intelligence and tools. As far as not stomaching slaughter, I don't know where you get that from. I'm sure people in slaughterhouses can stomach it all day long. In closing, I'd like to point out that every pure vegetarian I have met looks sickly and ameliorating, and usually suffers from fatigue and loss of energy.
Reply:Why not.
Reply:Actually our teeth are more developed for an omnivore diet as shown by these pics of omnivorous mammals: http://courses.washington.edu/chordate/4... Scroll to the bottom of the page to see the omnivores. We have to eat meat to obtain the vitamin B series of vitamins because our body cannot produce them on their own. You can only get that from animal protein, or suffer from vitamin B12 deficiency anemia and dementia. I personally hunt and fish and clean everything that I kill or catch. The problem with today's society is that the majority of the population is far removed from the processing of animals, and so are shocked when they see something that is perfectly natural. At least most humans try to do it humanely. I'd rather die from a well placed bullet than die of suffocation due to a mouth clamped around my neck.
Reply:Your assumptions are incorrect, We as humans have teeth that can chew and tear meat as well as grind down vegetables, we can do both, and if we had claws and canine teeth we'd be wolfmen and women and not human. Our capacity to use machines to slaughter animals leaves us free to go on with our daily routine without worrying our mental and emotional selfs, so the only place most see meat is in the grocery store. You must be one of those whackos that believe that animals should inherit the earth and humans should just not exist, at least this is how you sound. The reason humans eat meat is because Humans need protein in their diets, and yes they are able to digest it, Besides some animals are quite tasty.
Reply:that stuff about vegans is crap, ive been one for a year a half and was a vegetarian for 8 years before that. im more healthy on the inside and out than most meat eaters, i dont stuff myself with bovine growth hormones or any of the other cholesterol or crap that comes along with eating animal based fats. even if you look healthy on the outside your organs can still be fatty and unhealthy, i play sports, go on 10 kilometer walks a day and got almost a 4.0 GPA in 3rd year sciences this year. so im not tired, slow, unable to concentrate or any of that. also the baby that died didnt die because its parents were vegan, it died because its parents were obviously retarded and neglectful. i know many people who have raised perfectly healthy vegan children. also i emmit way less C02 into the air by my food choices alone, so im also helping curb global warming! better than a hybrid car, take that!
