The Wire on my braces is sticking out!!?

The archwire on one bracket on my canine tooth is sticking out, it's like it go unglued or something, because the wire on the top and bottom of the bracket got undone.

Mayby i was too harsh with the food? But a month has passed and nothing happened like this before.

AND it happened on the same day that i just visited for an appointment to get it tightened.

Is this normal and can i (somehow) fix it at home?

And can it wait for about a week or do i have to immediatly go back and fix it? i'm just worried that it might have a bad affect on my teeth.

thanks.

Go to the dentist asap to keep your teeth from shifting the wrong way. I had that happen and it was very painful and the dentist had to fix it. Most orthodontists will accept emergency appointments for this. Good luck and God bless!
Reply:I had the same problem. Unfortunately i waited about a week and my teeth shifted so i had to keep them on longer. get it fixed as soon as you can, but you have to get it at the ortho they have to re glue it.
Reply:When I used to have braces my brackets used to come off a lot (just attached to the wire and not the tooth itself) or my molar bands would come off. Sometimes I'd get too lazy to go to the dentist that day, I'd go to the dentist a week or two later. Never effected my teeth. My braces are off and my teeth are perfectly straight. And even if they did effect your teeth, you DO have braces on so it wouldn't be that big of a deal if your teeth shifted a bit because wearing braces will eventually align it again. If you wait too long however, your teeth could shift which would keep the ortho from removing your braces earlier.
Reply:Well it all depends on what archwires you are in! Are you in your first archwires how far along in treatment? If ou are in the flexy archwires it will not affect your teeth movement if youwait a few days to get in to the Orthodontist. If youare futher in treatment (stronger wires) i would call and see what they can do! Stronger wires broken brackets delay your treament! Also if you have any wax put some on it .. Sure it will be annoying that6 bracket wiggling around in there but just try not to mess with it.... If you are really worrried just call the office and let them know ..
Reply:Oh yeah...I have a very clumsy orthodontist and it's happened to me twice. Your orthodontist just didn't get the wire hooked to your back brace.

It would probably be best if you make an appointment to see the doctor right away so you don't have to deal with it tonight. You might try to fix it at home but that might make it even worse. It would be better to get the professionals to do it.

I hope you feel better soon.

And have a very Merry Christmas!
