How long could I possibly need braces for?

I have a lateral incisor that is crooked inwards. Well it aches occasionally and once in a while it causes ulcers.

The lateral incisor tooth on the opposite side of my mouth is a little crooked as well(not nearly as much), but it doesn't hurt.

So, I'm wonder with just these two issues about how long I could expect to wear braces. If it helps to know, both teeth are the second lateral incisor over from the canine teeth and both are on the bottom.

Also, if anybody knows how I could sooth the aches, let me know. I have an oral gel that numbs it for a bit, but it's bitter tasting and really doesn't last long anyways.

Ask the doctor who put or will put your braces on you. He knows the situation and appx. how long it will take. He should also tell you what would be best to take for pain. They usually give you a sheet of instructions to take home. Extra strength Tylenol make help for the time being. That's what they usually give at the hospitals for pain. They may recommend something stronger depending on the situation.
Reply:about one and a half year.
