Can you help me with my mouth sore?

My mouth sore is getting bad recently these days, and it is really painful. It is located in my gums, upper part of my mouth above my right canine teeth. And I think its getting bigger, oh no! Do you know any cure or medicines for it? And how do I get rid of them? Please help, thanks!

Can you help me with my mouth sore?
Of course I'd see your dentist soon. In the meantime, it might hurt but using the antiseptic medicine type mouthwash might keep it from getting bigger. It helped mine. It was a canker sore and went away. Still, see your doc. Good luck.
Reply:It could be an ulcer. Try gargling salt water.
Reply:Well thats a harder question since you may have a sore such as an ulcer or abrasion that may go away with salt water rinse or medicated rinses. If you sore is getting bigger, and you get a foul taste in mouth or it is accompanied by pain you may have an abcess which can be very dangerous-fatal if untreated. If you've had this sore for more than two weeks go see a dentist. If its a sore he can prescribe a rinse or topical gel but if something else he may give antibiotics.
Reply:Go to your doctor and get the inside of your mouth checked. It definitely would be an ulcer. I had one about 15 years ago in college and the doctor prescribed Xylocaine which tasted like crap but it numbs any portion of your mouth that come in contact with it for about 3 hours. Stay away from hot and spicy food for a while until the ulcer heals completely (about 2 to 3 weeks).
Reply:There are no "cures" for mouth ulcers, but, it is best to avoid acidic foods, nuts and sometimes even chocolate!! There is alot of new research that says that eating yogurt everyday will help, but I haven't tried it. Use an over the counter product such as Kanka or orabase. The Kanka liquid works well because it forms a film over the ulcer that will last a while. Good Luck!
