Uh is this normal????? pleas help?
Yes, puppies teeth just like babies. It should be fine, even if there's a little blood when a tooth falls out. (Just like a kid's tooth)

Next time you see the vet for a check up, mention it. You shouldn't need to rush out to your vet unless there's a major issue, like if your dog seems to be in obvious pain.
Reply:He will be fine but if you feel the need call your vet.
Reply:That's exactly right. It's around the right time (age) for it. No worries!
Reply:the adult teeth came in but didn't push out the baby teeth. you can get the baby teeth pulled out at the vet.
Reply:Maybe you should research this on animal planet or something. If things start to look very serious, i reccommend going to a vet just to make sure. Its probally nothing to worry about. Hope you find out!!Good luck!
Reply:He's probably getting his adult teeth in, they should fall out soon
Reply:He's only losing his baby teeth! No worries! Just watch out for them and if they are loose you can wiggle them or pull them out, or let them fall out on their own. If the teeth don't fall out in a couple months just consult with your vet on the next visit.
Reply:It is normal, but it can be a problem if they do not fall out. If he hasn't lost the extra teeth by next month, take him to the Vet. Having retained teeth can cause health problems.
Reply:Sounds like he is getting his "Big Boy Teeth" and the baby ones haven't fallen out yet.

If your worried, just take him to the vet for a check up.
Reply:I've had several dogs do that. Their baby canines don't fall out until the adult ones come through. It's normal.
Reply:i think they swallow baby teeth? i remember my dog having teeth be missing and some blood and they next day there would be a tooth there. weird. ask a vet.
Reply:When a dog's adult canine teeth grow in, they are Supposed to push the baby teeth out. What happened with your puppy is the Adult canine teeth grew in Next to the baby teeth, so they didn't push them out. So right now he has two sets of baby teeth, and two sets of adult teeth. When you get him neutered, which should be soon, the veterinarian can pull out the baby teeth.
Reply:This is not uncommon and usually corrects on its own by about 8 months, but you might want to show your vet at the next visit if the extra canines are retained after that.
Reply:his big teeth are growing in he is ok..

My mom and dad's pappy is the same way right now..
Reply:You're right; he's getting his adult teeth in and the baby teeth are still there. They should fall out on their own, but sometimes puppies, and it seems to effect the toy breeds more frequently, don't lose them on their own and should be removed by a vet.

It's a very minor procedure, and some vets don't like putting a dog under anesthesia just to remove their baby teeth, but if you plan on having him neutered or put under anesthesia for another reason, it would be the perfect time. Next time you take him into the vet, ask what they think the best route would be.

The reason it's a good idea to have them removed is that they sit jammed up against the adult teeth and food and stuff gets caught in there. If it sits there and decays, it could cause bigger dental problems.

It's not an emergency though. Good luck.
Reply:dont worry about it
Reply:This is typical for most small breeds, but in particular Poms. My sister has been breeding these dogs for 14 years and have had dogs come up with this at least one in every litter.

You can give it time and give your pup some hard chewies and see if the puppy teeth fall out on their own. If not, you will need to have them pulled by the Vet. the dog will need to be sedated for this.

Good luck!
Reply:Not to worry! Remember your teeth as a kid? They are the same with dogs, they will lose the baby teeth and grow new adult teeth. Many times you will never "find" the baby teeth because they get lost or swallowed (ewe..but it happens). I only found two of my puppys teeth and I know she lost much more than that! Good luck with the pup!
Reply:I'd take him to see a vet it sounds like he has whats called retained primary teeth, this is where the adult teeth come in before the baby teeth fall out..they need to be removed by a vet..the baby teeth shouldn't be there when the adult teeth come in. Its very common in small dogs...If you don't get them removed it can lead to further dental problems down teh road.
Reply:Make an appointment with your vet to have the teeth removed. Baby teeth are suppose to fall out on their own, due to the fact you have a toy breed with a tiny crowed head the teeth are very unlikely to come out on their own. Left in the mouth they can cause crooked bites and massive infections. On the other hand the vet can lightly sedate your pup and remove the teeth before anything bad happens.

Its a common occurrence in toy breed dogs. So please see the vet and do not ignore this if you want a healthy pup with a nice bite.
