Question pediatric tooth fracture?

We noticed tonight that our almost 7 year old daughter has a broken tooth. It is the first molar looking tooth if you look front to back in her mouth. I think it is still a "baby tooth" and she wouldn't lose it til she was a few years older?

She was just at the dentist the end of October and he did say she might need spacers, he'd talk to us about that when she came back for next cleaning in 6 months. We are just at a loss here as it broke in a space between teeth (that and the tooth right in front - a canine?) and she does brush twice a day and floss too. Could crowding ultimately cause a fracture or make a tooth more fracture prone? Obviously, we'll be calling tomorrow to get her in ASAP, but we are just looking for some insight between now and when we will ultimately get an appt. She does not complain of pain, thank goodness. But I would imagine if she broke it, she broke it on a sucker from Valentine's Day. She said she didn't notice anything breaking off or any sharp edges.

Question pediatric tooth fracture?
This is the most common position for childhood decay, and is not the result of crowding. This baby 1st molar is not normally lost until about the age of 10yo, and is important to keep open the space for the adult premolar that will replace it.

Take her to the dentist for treatment, and she should also be Xrayed to see if there are any other holes starting up. The small size of baby teeth makes fillings more difficult than adult teeth, so the sooner they are treated, the better.

Sweet drinks (fruit juices, cordials, etc) and lollies are the most common cause of decay in these positions. Discuss your daughter's diet and hygiene with the dentist to identify cause.

(I don't understand why a 7yo would be needing spacers?)
Reply:If she is not complaining.. just wait.. To be safe though I would take her in anyways and have them look at her tooth ..just t make sure she does not swallow the tooth.
