Why is my pup drooling so much?

I have a 9month Boston Terrier and he has been drooling excessively and isn't as active as usual. I took him to the vet and they said he lost some molers and canines and his other teeth are coming in, which is causing all the drooling. I just wanted a second opinion because he's not himself he's tired a lot and isn't as active even when we go for a walk.

If your puppy is just drooling i wouldnt be so worried and i would listen to the vet. If they start to foam then it could be a sign of rabies and your dog might have got at something infected. Just watch your pup carefully, but relax.
Reply:That doesn't sound like a Boston Terrier to me! It's good thing you asked for a second opinion here because I think your vet is wrong. I'm pretty sure losing teeth doesn't effect a dogs energy level. Good luck and hopefully you will find the solution.
Reply:Hmm well when my niece and nephew were getting their first baby teeth they sure were fussy and they always seemed to get a fever right around when they were getting a new tooth in! I'd say your pup is probably experiencing a doggie version of that!
Reply:Please get a second opion losing teeth will not affect a dogs energy levet in less the new one coming in is somehow impacted and then that will cause pain wich will cause a change in attitude
Reply:Your puppy's adult teeth should have been in between the ages of 5 and 7 months. It's rare that dogs would still be dropping baby teeth and having problems with molars at his age. In all the puppies I've seen, I've rarely seen a drooling problem caused by teething, and I've NEVER seen a puppy that was low on energy or listless from teething. If this is a tooth problem, I would suspect there's a problem with an impaction or an infection in a tooth or his jaw. I think your vet is wrong.

I'd get a second opinion without delay. If the dog is drooling and isn't acting right, he may have sustained damage to the jaw, have a paralysis problem with his throat, have something stuck in the teeth or throat, or perhaps he's ingested a poison. Drooling and lethargy are hallmark symptoms of poisoning-- perhaps the dog has swallowed a penny, a cleaning fluid, bleach, fabric softner, chewed a household plant or a battery. It's a long shot, but if he hasn't been vaccinated for rabies, that may also be a concern. It sounds like something is very wrong with the puppy. Take him to a different vet and have them do a head X-ray and run a complete blood panel to get to the bottom of it.
Reply:because he/she is thirsty dued
