Can retainers pull a tooth down?
No, they just retain or maintain the current position of the teeth.
Reply:doubt it. i actually had a canine tooth that was growing in the opposite direction up in my gums. i had braces at the time, and i had surgery and they attached a bracket and string on the tooth, pulling it down every appointment. thats the only way i know how to pull a tooth down.
Reply:The answer is no.

You need full braces for this. The hooks will be joined with elastics to help bring down a tooth.

The elastics are removable.
Reply:there are retainers that can do it but you'd have to have a button bonded to the tooth and that would be redone every few weeks.
