Pit Bull mouthy hugs?

Expanding for those who wanted detail: She takes my hand gently in her mouth after I show her lots of affection when we are cuddling, after hugs and belly rubs. Shes a full grown intact female for my family's breeding program. She is EXTREMELY people submissive and generally not an alpha dog in the pack, more content to just get along. I can give her a steaming homecooked meal or bone then take it away again and she'll be like, Okay ma. I guess she knows she's getting it back because I pretty much hand raised her since she was only a few weeks old. What she does is, when I am scratching her tummy or petting her or hugging her, if i let her lick my hands, she will gently put her teeth (middle chewing teeth, not incisors or canines) on my finger or hand with NO pressure, while continuing to grunt. She is VERY vocal when happy, making all types of grunts and growly- like noises of happiness. And if that terrible Brad responds, everyone please report him as he's making fun of AIDS sufferers

Reply:There is nothing wrong with pitbulls or any other breed just bad owners...
Reply:A friend of mine has a pit bull who does the exact same thing! She's the most friendly pit bull in the world.

Okay, second friendliest.
Reply:sounds like a lovely dog! she loves you very much. brad needs to get a life! or aids! my heeler is just as vocal with me like your pitt bull. ive always been a bit wary of that breed but sounds like ive been mistaken. you have done a great job in trainig her, she will always be devoted to you, you can tell by the way you explain her nature.you have a good loyal friend in your dog.
Reply:No dog no matter what breed should be not allowed to touch you with their teeth may cause problems as they get older.
Reply:My lab mix Duke does that too! He is a submissive dog to my other dog who is the dominant one!

I think its cute when he does it. I have raised him since he was about 5 or 6 weeks!
Reply:Guess you had a question before this one that I have not seen yet.

Just want to comment on this one.

My 57lb lap dog also likes to nibble my fingers as I pet her.

I'm back in the recliner..she is sitting with her back to my chest/belly between my legs and I reach around to rub her belly. She likes to have my other hand in her mouth gently nibbing my fingers and finger nails.

She will often put her head back to give me one of those famous staffy kisses, too.lol

Glad to know I'm not the only one who trusts a staffy enough to be their chew toy.
Reply:My pit does similar things. He is an intact, 7 yr old Colby I rescued out of a FIGHTING ring! He had been fought, beaten, chained with no shelter, and starved most of his life. I've had him(his name is Blood:)) for three years, and I know his little nibbles, like you describe, and snorts and grunts are pure pleasure! I know you can't usually save a dog like this, but mine is special! He is gentle, but I have to keep him in a fence, for he takes his job as protector very seriously! He is the best thing that has ever happened to my family. He just has his own, strange ways of showing us his appreciation!
Reply:Neither of my two do this - but one grunts and snorts and sounds like a pig - so her nickname is Miss Piggy. It's the funniest thing ever. It actually makes it hard to pet her because when she gets going she's snorting away!!
Reply:My Pit Bull doesn't use her mouth with me at all. But she is the same way, I can take something right out of her mouth, even her beloved Raw Hide, and she just lets it go, then looks up at me. If I ever wanted to I could take her food out of her mouth, and she would have no complaints. I would never do this, but I still think it is amazing that she would let me. And she is also very vocal. She makes the cutest grunting sounds, and she barks and growls when she plays. it is funny, because when people hear a lab or yorkie growl when they are playing with a ball, they just brush it off as being a dog. But when they hear my Pit Bull growling when we are playing, they get all freaked out. But she isn't being aggressive, she is just talking. And it is hard to bark when she has a ball in her mouth, so she just makes noises.
